We were disappointed that the Internet reservation system said there was only one room remaining. This was not at all true. The behavior of other persona staying at the motel was noisy (went outside to soke repeatedly in front of our window. No soundproofing in thge entire building. We spoke to the gal in the office who supposedly spoke to the noisy ones. That did little good. I finally spoke to the smokers by the window who did quiet down some, but by thrree twenthy am had to have another smoke and we think deliberately chose to stand in front of our window and talk loudly. This motel iis not in good shape, the work done on it was sloppy and unprofessional. The tv was from the 60's or so. We had to borrow a hair dryer from the office. We are frequent users of Choice Motels and are, therefore familiar with the the condition and staff of these motels, as well as the amenities. The Monticello entry in the Choice system fell far short of what we were used to . Doug
We appreciated the office lady giving us a ten percent rebate on the price of the room. Which, incidentally, we thought was vlery high to begin with.
It was very unpleasant. Blankets and bed spreads very dirty. Bathroom dirty Could not shower. Large chair was very dirty Did not dare to place lugage on floor or in the chair Wife slept with clothes on because of dirt. Very unpleasant Breakfast selection was very limited. Bagil and jelly, organge and apple juice coffee apple plus dry ceral.
Very unpleasant Thought I was booking a bedroom with two Queen beds Only one Changed room at an add cost of 22 dollars.
I was pleasantly surprised with the room. I stayed there a couple of years ago and was not happy with the accommodations. The management has done a nice job with the place.
I may have missed it but I did not find any tea service at the breakfast room. I do not drink coffee.
there wasnt a coffee pot in the room. also the free breakfast ended at 9 am, just a little early for someone trying to get away from waking up so early
The first room we we were given had a water soaked floor. The room also smelled of mold. We had to take a smoking room/w king bed. This room didn't have with enough towels for two people and smoke detector! And ran out of tissues after 3 or 4. Stayed there 2 nights, they didn't refill the tissues. I think the fire department should make a visit to this hotel and Econolodge should think about taking their name off that sign in Monticello!!!
Although the room was clean, it smelled of a heady deodorizer so that we needed to air it out before settling in. Also, neither of us was sure if our pillowslips were fresh, because each had a hair on it when we turned back the spread
